1. Overview

Short version: VisaCalc does not collect or store personal immigration data you enter into our calculators. All tool calculations happen locally in your browser. We do use cookies for advertising and analytics as described below.

VisaCalc ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website located at immigrationfeecalc.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit the Site.

By using VisaCalc, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. This policy complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

Information you enter into our tools

VisaCalc tools (fee calculators, eligibility checkers, date calculators) are designed to operate entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or have access to any data you enter into our tools — such as dates, immigration status, income, or country of birth. This data exists only in your browser session and is discarded when you leave the page.

Automatically collected information

When you visit our Site, certain information is automatically collected by our servers and third-party services:

Information you voluntarily provide

If you contact us via email or a contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email address, and message content). We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and to serve advertising. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website.

Types of cookies we use

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing ones. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our Site. You can also opt out of personalized advertising via:

4. Advertising — Google AdSense

VisaCalc uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements on our Site. These ads help us keep all tools free for users.

Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to collect data about your visits to this and other websites to display targeted advertisements based on your interests. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our Site and other sites on the Internet.

For more information about Google AdSense, visit Google's advertising policies.

5. Analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to our Site.

We use the information from Google Analytics only to improve our Site and tools. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the Site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through Google Analytics with personally identifiable information.

Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and Google Privacy Policy. You may prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits by disabling cookies or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, including uscis.gov, travel.state.gov, and other government resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

7. Your Rights and Choices

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the email listed in the Contact section below.

EU/UK residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR including: access to your personal data; correction of inaccurate data; deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"); restriction of processing; data portability; and the right to object to processing.

Our lawful basis for processing personal data is legitimate interest (improving our services) and, where applicable, consent (for advertising cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences.

Opt-out of personalized advertising

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or by using the cookie preference controls on our Site.

8. Children's Privacy

VisaCalc is not directed to individuals under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Because our tools operate client-side (in your browser) and do not transmit your immigration data to our servers, the security risk associated with your tool usage is minimal.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
